As a
new patient to this practice we would like to take this opportunity to
greet you and to go over some basic information in order to save you
time at your initial visit.
Dr. Lochridge's practice consists of individuals (children, teenagers
and adults), couples and family therapy as well as medication
management. At the initial evaluation he will discuss whether
medication, psychotherapy or both would be the most effective and
appropriate treatment. The initial evaluation is normally
scheduled to last 45-50 minutes. In the case of children and
teenagers, we can schedule one or two initial sessions and he will
interview the parents during the first 45 minute session, and the second
session is then divided between meeting the child and a summarizing
period. The office will be happy to talk with you to decide which
option is best for you.
If the child has been referred by another therapist or has had previous
psychological testing, usually a single evaluation session is all that
will be required. If you have recent psychological test results,
please bring a copy with you to the initial appointment. If you choose
to take the QUOTIENT ADHD test, please let us know a few days ahead of
your appointment so that additional time can be scheduled.
If Dr. Lochridge prescribes medication, he will want to see you back in
the office two to three weeks after you start the medication for a
follow-up visit. Please feel free to call during those first few
weeks at any time if you have questions about your medication.
Although emergencies do occur, Dr. Lochridge tries to start and finish
appointments in a timely manner. Please be prompt for your
appointment and plan ahead for the inevitable Atlanta traffic.
PAYMENT
As you are already aware, we do not accept insurance for the payment of
fees. Many years ago Dr. Lochridge discontinued participation in
any insurance or managed care plan. Payment is expected at the
time of service and then patients can choose whether or not to seek
reimbursement from their insurance companies. At the end of your
appointment, the office will provide you with a receipt which will show
your diagnosis, service provided, and charges paid. This may be
used to file a claim with your insurance company if you choose to do so.
Please call our office to find out more about charges, types of
appointments, and reimbursement.
PAPERWORK
There are several forms you will need to fill out prior to seeing the
doctor. This can be done by arriving 30 minutes early for your
first appointment or by downloading them from this website and either
bringing them to your first appointment or sending them on in advance.
If you will go to the FORMS page listed above you will find all the necessary
information. |
